Tyson Stelzer’s Tasmanian Wine Weekend is more than just a wine-tasting event – it’s a journey into the soul of Tasmania’s wine industry. Over three days, guests will have the rare opportunity to walk through the vineyards of the Coal River and Derwent Valleys, meet the viticulturists, and taste the ferments straight from the barrel halls. This hands-on experience offers a deeper understanding of the processes and passion behind Tasmania’s world-class wines.
The weekend will feature an impressive lineup of winemakers, including Anna Pooley and Justin Bubb (Pooley Estate), Steve and Monique Lubiana (Stefano Lubiana), Natalie Fryar and Hugh McCullough (Bellebonne and Wellington & Wolfe), Ed and Jen Carr (House of Arras), and Liam McElhinney (Lowestoft). These industry legends will guide you through their craft, sharing insights into their winemaking philosophies and the stories behind their wines.

A Showcase of Tasmania’s Best Wines

The event coincides with two significant milestones: the 30th anniversary of House of Arras and the 10th anniversary of Bellebonne. Over the weekend, more than 40 benchmark wines from current and back vintages will be showcased, including sparkling wines, pinot noirs, chardonnays, and rieslings. Each wine will be intricately paired with dishes crafted from the finest Tasmanian ingredients, ensuring a culinary experience that perfectly complements the wines.

A Packed Program of Events

The weekend kicks off on Friday, 23 May, with a sparkling wine reception and afternoon tea at the luxurious Prospect Country House. Guests will then enjoy a cocktail-style dinner with the winemakers, setting the tone for the weekend ahead.
Saturday’s program includes a vineyard visit to Pooley Estate, where guests can sample new vintage barrel ferments, followed by a casual lunch at the Pooley Estate Cellar Door.
